OJUG had Fred Sells present last night on Turbogears and Flex. He had a Java centric medium sized audience. Fred entertained them (me too) with how easy it is to integrate a Turbogears (think Rails for Python) application with a Flex GUI.

Fred had a very ‘textbook’ example where he started with a static app/gui and moved on to a more dynamic/fancy one.  This went very well for group as neither Python nor Flex may be on their radar.  Fred kept a very pragmatic take on presentation that I found surprisingly refreshing.

I find it very encouraging that Flex is gaining such audiences and interest in the development communities.  Its a great time to be a Flex developer. Thanks OJUG for setting up this meeting and topic.

OJUG has meeting topics planned all the way to next year and I’ll be checking them out in the future
