I believe that Google Calendar can connect to and send reminders via SMS. We have a few of the guys at work who use it, and it works out great. I was able to find this link on the Google Calendar site: http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=37228 I don't know if GMail has a similar service, but I couldn't find anything on it.
